Love thy neighbor as thyself, a Christian theme with wide appeal among people of different races, creeds and affiliations. Not only should this mantra teach us to treat others as we would like to be treated, it can encourage empathy, and positive action.
The world is in turmoil. With media agendas, political rhetoric, and fear-mongering, it may be difficult to see the ordinary people who are suffering.

Along with social media, a display could be set up in a popular community gathering place, such as a restaurant or library. A mirror placed above the magazine rack shows the viewer and the image of a displaced Syrian family at the same time, further driving home the juxtapositions shown in the magazine.
